Location / Directions |
Mineral del Monte, commonly called Real del Monte is a small mining town, and one of the 84 municipalities of Hidalgo, in the State of Hidalgo in east-central Mexico. It is located at an altitude of 2,700 metres (8,900 ft). |
Description | Founded in 1907, the Mining Hospital was created thanks to the collaboration of the Barteros and the Royal Company of Monte and Pachuca, in order to have a hospital center for workers, especially for those who suffered accidents or chronic diseases acquired in the Performance of their work. It is currently a unique museum of its kind in Mexico. It preserves the facilities, furniture and medical equipment used since its opening. This museum is an interesting example of occupational medicine in our country and a means to know its history. |
