The Ferrymead Railway is located within the Ferrymead Heritage Park in south-east Christchurch.

Ferrymead Heritage Park is located in the suburb of Ferrymead, approximately 7 km from Cathedral Square in downtown Christchurch.

By car:
Take Ferry Road east from city centre towards Sumner. Take first right over Heathcote River Bridge, down Bridle Path Road and follow signs to Ferrymead Heritage Park.

By bus:
Take bus number 35 from the city.

The Tramway Historical Society  operates the standard gauge Ferrymead Tramway. Trams have operated at Ferrymead since 1968, with progressive extensions built between 1970 and 1984 allowing trams to operate within the boundaries of the Heritage Park. The Society also operates and own a collection of historic trolley buses and diesel buses.
