The Beijing Railway Museum was opened in 2008. In October 2010, Beijing Railway Museum was renamed to the Zhengyangmen Branch of the China Railway Museum.

China Railway Museum Zhengyang Museum exhibition shows the development path of China Railway, 130 years with a five-part exhibition.
A large number of detailed historical picture,
a comprehensive display of the historical trajectory of China's railway development,
and for the majority of visitors to understand China's railways past, present and future,
but also for historians of Railway history it provides valuable historical and important basis.

The Exhibition is divided into five sections:
Part I: staggered start of China Railway (1876-1911)
Part II: struggling China Railway (1911-1949)
Part III: hard work of Chinese Railway (1949-1978)
Part IV: the rapid development of China's railway (1978-2002)
Part V: China Railway Science Development (2002- present)

中国铁道博物馆正阳门馆的展览内容为“中国铁路发展史”。展陈大纲严格遵循中国铁路130余年的发展轨迹，以五个部分的阶段划分展览命题，运用大量翔实生 动的图片史料，全面展示了中国铁路发展的历史轨迹，为广大参观者深入了解中国铁路的过去、现在和未来，同时也为史学界研究铁路历史提供了珍贵史料和重要依 据。展览分为五个部分：
第一部分：蹒跚起步的中国铁路（1876-1911）
第二部分：步履维艰的中国铁路（1911-1949）
第三部分：奋发图强的中国铁路（1949-1978）
第四部分：长足发展的中国铁路（1978-2002）
