Description The first Transporter Bridge was built near Bilbao in Spain and is still used today. Worldwide less than twenty transporter bridges were built, of which 6 are currently in operation.

- Newport Transporter Bridge - Newport, UK, 1906
- Schwebefähre Osten–Hemmoor - Osten, Germany, 1909
- Middlesbrough Transporter Bridge - Middlesbrough, UK, 1911
- Rendsburger Hochbrücke mit Schwebefähre - Rendsburg, Germany, 1913

Puente Nicolás Avellaneda or Transbordador del Riachuelo is a transporter bridge in Buenos Aires, Argentina, it was completed in 1914. The bridge was in use until 1960 and may be preserved as a historical monument in the future.
