Description Tele Museum was a museum in Stockholm, which included extensive collections of primarily older telephone and radio equipment. The museum was founded in 1850 and was closed on January 18, 2004. Tele Museum was first at Karlaplan, but in the 1970s it moved in next door to the Museum of Technology in Museivägen in the garden.

Collections in Telemuseum contained about 15 000 objects. After the demise took over the collections of the Museum of Technology, but almost everything is stored up, in addition to about 250 phones are exhibited in the Museum of Technology.

The reason for Tele Museum was closed down was the liberalization of telecommunications in Sweden. When Telia could no longer have a monopoly on the telephone, they felt that they were no longer obliged to alone pay for the operation of Tele Museum. The competing phone companies (Tele2 and others) were not interested in helping to fund the operation, and no state institution considered themselves unable to afford to drive Tele Museum. The result was that Tele Museum was closed for good.

Description
(other)

Samlingarna i Telemuseum innehöll cirka 15 000 föremål.
