Georgetown, Colorado is just 40 miles west of Denver along I-70. Take Exit 228 and follow the signs to downtown Georgetown. The museum is located at the east end of 6th Street on the corner of Griffith Street.
Description

In many ways, the Alpine Hose building is the major visual and historical symbol for the town of Georgetown. Constructed between 1875 and 1880, this building housed the Alpine Hose Company No. 2. Unlike many early mining towns in Colorado, Georgetown was never leveled by fire, due in no small part to the dedication and service of the men serving in this company as well as the three other fire companies located in the town. William Hamill donated the hose tower and the 1,200 pound bell that still rings the hour and half-hour over Georgetown today.

The Alpine Hose #2 is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. A partnership between HGI, the Georgetown Volunteer Fire Department, and the Town of Georgetown allowed the building to be restored and converted to a museum. The Alpine Hose #2 saw its grand opening in July of 2013, and since then has attracted many visitors from both near and far.  

This museum boasts a meticulously restored upstairs meeting room, original carpeting, trophy case, uniforms, furnishings, fixtures, and photographs. 
The hook-and-ladder truck of the Star Hook and Ladder Company of Georgetown resides onsite.  An interpretive exhibit offers the full story of firefighting in Georgetown.
