By plane: you can fly into the Skagway Airport. By water: You can visit the park by cruise ship, tour boat, or ferry.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:
Skagway is one of three Southeast Alaskan communities that is connected to the road system; Skagway's connection is via the Klondike Highway, completed in 1978. This allows access to the lower 48, Whitehorse, the Yukon, northern British Columbia, and the Alaska Highway.
This also makes Skagway an important port-of-call for the Alaska Marine Highway — Alaska's ferry system — and serves as the northern terminus of the important and heavily used Lynn Canal corridor.

The White Pass and Yukon Route is a railway that formerly linked Whitehorse, Yukon in Canada to Skagway, the railway's southernmost terminus. Today, trains travel several times a week from May through September from Skagway to the small community of Carcross, approximately 45 miles south/southwest of Whitehorse. There, passengers (mostly tourists) can make connections via bus to Whitehorse.

The Skagway Airport receives service from two bush carriers: Wings of Alaska, and Air Excursions.

Description

Skagway's Historic District

Over 20 gold rush boom town buildings are part of the park today. Explore the ones in Skagway's Historic District.

Six blocks of downtown Skagway, Alaska are designated as a National Historic District. Within this zone, private, state, city, and federal interests have cooperated to preserve or restore the late 1890s atmosphere. Klondike Gold Rush NHP manages 20+ buildings in the Historic District and just outside its boundary. These buildings are being preserved by the National Park Service to honor the struggles of the stampeders of the Klondike Gold Rush and to preserve the legacy of this important event in our nation's history.

White Pass and Yukon Route Railway Administration Building

The White Pass & Yukon Route Administration Building (NPS Visitor Center and Park Headquarters) is also still in its original location near the southeast corner of Broadway and Second Avenue (Block 36, Lot 5) and adjacent to the original White Pass & Yukon Route Broadway Depot.
