The Museum of Broadcast Communications is On the Move

After over a decade at 360 North State Street in Chicago, the MBC will be relocating as our space is being sold. The board of directors is seeking a new location with an anticipated re-opening in 2025 in collaboration with a local university. In the meantime, we will be focusing on virtual and pop-up exhibits around Chicagoland.

The MBC includes:

* Oprah’s Door (through which she made her famous grand entrance each day)
* WGN's Family Classics set
* The Penthouse with a garden terrace for private events up to 700
* 173 inductee posters in the only National Radio Hall of Fame Gallery
* Touch screen access to radio's greatest voices - and most memorable moments
* The "original" Charlie McCarthy, Mortimer Snerd and Effie Klinkler
* Scores of radio memorbillia and cintage radios
* A working radio and television studio
* A media-equipped education center for group orientation and teaching

continue being that bridge for another 40 years.”
MBC looks forward to bringing you modern versions of our classic exhibits
and interactive new exhibits in an updated facility with educational and
theater spaces, guest amenities and a renewed academic focus.
