The McComb Amtrak station is a train station in McComb, Mississippi, United States served by Amtrak, the national railroad passenger system. The station was built in 1901 by the Illinois Central Railroad and was restored in 1998, and again on June 13, 2003. The station house is currently the home of the McComb Railroad Museum.
The Illinois Central Railroad (reporting mark IC), sometimes called the Main Line of Mid-America, is a railroad in the central United States, with its primary routes connecting Chicago, Illinois with New Orleans. The Canadian National Railway gained control of the IC in 1998, and it is now a subsidiary and part of the CN Southern Region

We have an outside train exhibit which includes
only one of two remaining IC mountain type steam locomotives,
the only aluminum refrigerator car the Illinois Cenral made (which was in the McComb Shop),
an 1883 office car,
a rare 1914 Railway Post Office car,
a caboose,
and a wrecking derrick. |
