Persons coming south on Interstate 95 should exit onto US 1 south (please do not take Business Route 1) about 5 miles after entering Pennsylvania from New Jersey. Follow the signs directing you to the Pennsylvania Turnpike westbound (Interstate 76 West). Travelers on the Pennsylvania Turnpike may use several exits, but the easiest for people not familiar with the area is Exit 286 (formerly 21) -- the Reading exit. Upon exiting, take US 222 south to US Route 30 east. Then turn right on to State Route 896 south to Strasburg. Watch for a traffic signal at which Route 896 turns left on the new bypass (Historic Drive). At its intersection with State Route 741 (known locally as Gap Road), turn left (east). Follow that road for about a a third of a mile. The Museum will be on your right, and the Strasburg Rail Road will be on the left. For GPS: Use 300 Gap Road, Ronks, PA 17572 |
