Description

Spend a morning or afternoon exploring the estate of Thomas and Mina Edison called Glenmont. Thomas Edison purchased this grand estate for his new bride Mina Miller Edison in 1886. It is here that the Edisons raised their children, entertained friends, family and Edison business associates. Spend some time wandering the grounds and see why Thomas and Mina loved their home.

Come visit the recently opened Laboratory Complex. Explore 20,000 square feet of additional exhibit space, including two floors of the main laboratory building that has never before been open to the public. Spend an hour or spend the day. The Laboratory is now a self guided experience so you can pick and choose what's interesting to you.

Thomas Edison's chemistry Lab.
Throughout the day ranger led programs will be running at the Laboratory Complex. Look for posted times in the visitor center. Edison's Black Maria In 1893, the world's first film production studio, the Black Maria, or the Kinetographic Theater, was completed on the grounds of Edison's laboratories at West Orange, New Jersey, for the purpose of making film strips for the Kinetoscope
