  • The Crosley 129-1 "Alderman" is an AC operated 6 tube BC band receiver.  Has push pull audio output stage. Has Qty(2) Electro Magnetic Dynamic 6" speakers.

Models 129 and 129-1 are similar 6 tube models, differing only in that model 129 is designed to drive a single speaker, while model 129-1 is designed to drive 2 speakers.

From the Crosley News Brochure:  This chest model receiver is a clever and novel conception and represents the full and complete expression of the latest in radio design and performance.  The Crosley ALDERMAN breaks away from the conventional rounded top table model and brings the charming and distintive chest design to the radio world.  Its solid dignity fits in with any home surroundings.  An overlay of beautiful stump walnut veneer decorates the front panel.  The beautiful molded top is of walnut veneer and is hand rubbed.  The four corner knobs raise the entire set from the surface at both ends of the cabinet.

The superheterodyne chassis using the new 2 1/2 volt heater type tubes is the same as that in the Crosley JUSTICE.  However two full floating moving coil dynamic speakers are incorporated instead of one.  These dual speakers, at either ends, accomplish a realism of tone that infinitely increases the enjoyment of radio programs.

In many cases Crosley used the chassis number as the model number, and added a model name to some models to help distinguish versions that used common chassis.  Here are the models that used the 129 chassis versions:

    Model Model Type Chassis Speakers
    Justice Table 129 1
    Judge Console 129 1
    Alderman Table 129-1 2
