  • The model 677 is in color red.
The same model was made in the following colors: model 675 in black, model 676 in ivory, model 677 in red and model 678 in green. They are General Electric's first transistor radios - and it is the second pocket sized transistor radio, made sorthly after Regency's model TR1 pocket radio. In between is only the much bigger sized Raytheon model 8TP, which was also made in 4 colors.
The technique of the GE pocket transistor radio is unique. See SAMS set 329, folder 7 from September 1956 and Beitman vol 16 show only 675 and 676 what indicates that 677 and 678 followed later than 675 and 676 - in 1956 instead of 1955. We include SAMS for the latter two. The set is made for a "Pack form battery" with a common positive terminal: Eveready number 239 or Burgess XX9. Detection accomplished by a diode just before the 2N78.

Couleur Rouge, pile bi voltage 4.5 & 13,5v Eveready 239 ou Burgess XX9.
