Hello:

I disassembled my Nordmende Globetraveler Junior earlier this afternoon and have some technical questions which I hope can be answered in the forum. This radio is the US version of the Nordmende Transita TS.

1. What lubricant should I use to lubricate the tuning condenser? It appears to turn freely and is not stuck. But I think that it would turn a little more easily if it were lubricated. Can I use ordinary contact cleaner or is there a better lubricant to use? I want something that sprays or brushes-on because I do not want to remove the condenser from the radio.

2. The AM dial cord spring is stretched out, probably due to a prevous repair. Where can I obtain a new replacement spring at reasonable cost? Is there a good online source?

If available, I would like to buy an assortment of many small springs (of various different sizes and tensions) so that I would always have them ready for use. Is there an online source that sells this?

3. The plastic dial bezel is intact but has numerous cracks and is starting to become brittle. What glue should I use to prevent the cracked areas from breaking off? Also, what cleaner or polish can I use to clean the plastic bezel after I have glued it?

I live in the United States but can usually purchase most parts online from sellers that sell worldwide.

Many thanks,
