  • The Sears Silvertone 6070 is a 6 volt DC battery operated 5 tube BC band farm radio.  Riders states the BC band tuning range as 537 to 1730 kHz, the Sears catalog states the range as 540 to 1720 kHz. Has tuning eye and a synchronous plug-in type vibrator used to generate the B+ voltage.  Has Bias cell.  Also has 465 kHz wave trap.

    Catalog States: Superheterodyne with 7 tuned circuits, wavetrap included.  Rubber cushioned chassis mounting.  Streamlined rectangular gold-colored dial. Electronic tuning eye for perfect tuning.  Automatic volume control. Reduction drive tuning 12 to 1 ratio. Dynamic loud speaker. All tuning knobs are plainly marked. Ball bearing condenser, rubber mounted. The cabinet is beautifully made with front panel and ends of two-tone sliced walnut, the modern grille design accentuated by shaded overlay bars.  Complete with 5 pre-tested tubes, less battery.

    The chassis and schematic for this model is also used in model Silvertone 6170.
