This tube is the fore-runner of the UY224 and was made by a few manufacturers such as Ceco and Eveready Raytheon (AC22), Sonatron, Songbird (made for Montgomery Ward) and Sylvania (222AC). These tubes were only available for a few months - April to July 1929, when the type number was discontinued for these
