Description |
Temperature-limited diode for AC voltage stabilisation applications. Temperature-limited current increases with the rms value of the current flowing into the tungsten filament.
Operating conditions: Filament (tungsten) 1.9 to 2.3V, 440 to 520mA; Plate 0.7mA at 600V, 1.0mA at 700V.
GE, Sylvania and Thermosen among the manufacturers.
Early introduced in 1957 by The Superior Electric Co., later Thermosen, for use as RMS detector and for current stabilizers.
