The RCA 1662 is a 3A4 of special construction with a directional getter and getter shield for lower noise. Per Tube Lore (Ludwell Sibley), these were made for the Navy Ordinance Lab in two production runs in 1944 and 1951. [Source: Jim Cross, TCA]
