Description |
Power pentode, 25L6GT w/ special (original-design) screen grid and unique testing. Sold only to Bristol Co., Waterbury, CT; in min. Lots of 5000; and used in their industrial furnace-control equipment. Introduced 1948 as "25L6GT Code M-34"; withdrawn 1954. Replaced selected 25L6GTs made according to the original tube design; later cost- reduced 25L6GTs could not meet selection criteria. A special run of 15,000 tubes was made in 1949. Tubes were to be branded "1677" and selected by Bristol; those returned as not meeting requirements were to be salvaged and rebranded as 25L6s. Later furnace controllers used a 6C4 and 2D21 instead.[Information by L. Sibley]
