Description |
Beam power amp., modified 6AQ5. Had special control grid and tungsten heater wire in place of "Dowmo". Tested for zero-bias plate current, cutoff, shorts, and life. Sold only to IBM. Intro. 1950; withdrawn 1952. (IBM reportedly got better quality w/ GE and TS tubes.) Tubes were to be etched "6AQ5," and branded w/ "IBM" and probably w/ IBM part no. 300706. [Information by L. Sibley]
