This tube, from WWI, had "iron-clad" electrode structure, with grid punched from nickel sheet, plate ribbed for rigidity and CuNiFe alloy filament.
Also known as VT-1, Signal Corps, or CW-933, U.S. Navy coding. Tube Lore II, p. 234, states that the filament was platinum, for patent reasons
