Description |
Door-knob shaped UHF transmitting triode, usable as oscillator in Lecher tuned systems, up to 1750MHz. 20W anode dissipation. First introduced by WE in 1934; according to Waveguide Transmission by George C.Southworth, Bell Labs Series, chapter IX. Almost certainly the author confused the experimental studies with the production date.
According to the two articles published on UHF gridded oscillators by A.L. Samuel in November 1934 and in October 1937 and reprinted in the Bell System Technical Journal, only experimental samples of single-ended triodes had been made in 1934, leading to the introduction of the 316A in 1936. Experimental double-ended triodes were available at the date of the second publication, in 1937. Then the introduction of 368A must be after that date.
Made by WE and by STC with the code 3B/250A.
