Description |
UHF pulse triode. 'A' is rated for higher duty cycle.
Similar to CV178 with coaxial heater connector.
National Union decided to design its own UHF transmitting triode inspired to British milli-micropups. 3C27 was the first device released for pulse operation. Unfortunately grid was unable to withstand large positive pulses. The improved 3C27A was fitted with a finned grid radiator. Only 3C27B went in production according to the RMA registration record.
Small lots of 3C27 already assembled were uprated to 3C27B, adding the grid radiator and the B suffix on both tube body and box.
