Description |
Glass disc-seal amplifier klystron; three-pin pewee base. External cavities and focusing magnet. Forced-air blast required on the collector radiator.
500mW output at 4GHz.
During the war Bell built several linear beam experimental klystrons, capable of operating as amplifiers or oscillators at frequencies up to 3 GHz and over. This is the only linear beam klystron gone in very limited production for trials on the TDX microwave relay, soon replaced by 416A. Also used in the TD-2 test signal generator.
