Die Kathodenstrahlröhre arbeitet mit einer Heizspannung von 6.3V, einer Anodenspannung von 1.4KV und einer Nachbeschleunigung von 5KV. Die Röhre besitzt 3 Strahleinheiten, einen für die Erzeugung des Elektronenstrahls für die Darstellung, sowie zwei weitere für das Flooding mit zwei Elektronenwolken. Der Sockel ist 14-polig.

Die Oszilloskop-Röhre 5083-3770 ist vom Hersteller HP und wird in den HP-Modellen 184A und 184B eingesetzt. Es ist eine Rechteckröhre mit Storage-Funktion und einer bemaßt nutzbaren Bildschirmfläche von 8x10 cm.
