Description |
Omegatron mass-spectrometer tube. Electrons emitted by the tungsten cathode and attracted by the collector traverses the electrode structure, where ionise molecules of the gas to be analysed. Under the combined effect of electrical fields and of a superimposed magnetic field, some ions travel to the ion collector electrode, causing a current flow.
Pin displacement according to B9G, 9 pin loctal, ion collector out from the side. Filament must be operated at voltage from 0 to 2 volts for the required current beam, never exceeding 3.5A. The top glass tip must be cutted and the tubulation connected to the mass-spectrometer.
