3" image orthicon for outdoors use; 1650V anode voltage. English Electric, GE, Philips, RCA, Sylvania, Westinghouse known manufacturers.
English Electric Valve Co literature notes that this was the first Orthicon manufactured by the Company. It is stated that acceptable pictures can be obtained at f5.6 with a scene brightness of 15ft-lamberts (= 50 cd/m2), making it suitable for outside or studio use.
