There is [ seemed to be] also a Raytheon B7G 6AH5 which no doubt is totally unrelated. It might be an RF/IF Pentode

Examing very carefully under a bright magnifiying lamp confirms I'm wrong on my first assumption. There is a very slight curve on the top of the "5" if must be a "6" with the exact critical part of the loop missing!

according to the RMA register, the 6AH5G is an octal tube assigned to Philco in January 1942. Sibley also gives a metal variant, as 6AH5. The closest B7G Raytheon tube could be the 6AH6, a sharp cut-off pentode. Maybe that the last digit is partially rubbed out on your sample.

The pin assignment of this tube differs much from the standard. If there really is a metal variant, to which pin will be the shell connected to ?

If someone has the idea to replace tentatively this tube by a metal 6L6, it will have unpleasant consequences.
