Hi,

I have a 6BG6 tube. Its sign clearly says 6BG6, but it has a bulb shape as 6BG6GA

I don't know where to upload its picture. Here or to page of 6BG6GA?

Best regards

Otto

Hello Ottó,

only 6BG6G and 6BG6GA are registered, never was a 6BG6.
An octal tube 6BG6 without a suffix as -G, -GA, etc. would presume a metal version of this tube, which never did exist.

Unfortunately some companies didn't care about the meaning of the suffixes and left it omitted.

I fully agree with you that the bulb shape is like the 6BG6GA, but you should upload the pictures here on the 6BG6 page, where any incorrectly as 6BG6 labelled tubes belongs to, despite as if they are actually a 6BG6G or a 6BG6GA.

Best Regards,
Jacob

Towards the end of the octal era, it seems to have become more and more common that the suffix letters were omitted. For example, the 6CM5 seems to never have had a GT suffix.
