Description |
According to the nomenclature, an octal tube 6H8 without a suffix as -G, -GT, etc. would presume a metal version of this tube, which apparently does not exist, but there are metal-glass (MG) tubes stamped as 6H8, see also under 6H8G and 6H8MG.

Hello,
unfortunately no test values for signal diode tubes are published.

You can try this little test circuit as shown.
The 6.3 AC voltage source might be the heater voltage of the tube. Across the resistor R1 (100 kΩ), parallel with a capacitor 1 µF, you should find a DC voltage from about 6 to 10 V.
Just test on both diode units, compare it with other signal diode tubes, such as 6Q7, 6AV6, EBC41, etc.
good luck,
Best Regards,
Jacob
