Description

Replacement tube offered by Electro Harmonix for the original 7868.
Caution is advised, however, as the original 7868 has a Novar base (B9E). The 7868EH has the same pin assignment, but is equipped with a Magnoval base (B9D). Magnoval has the same pin positions, but the pin diameter is slightly larger at 1.27 mm (0.046") instead of 1.02 mm (0.038"). This can lead to mechanical problems with the socket or the contacting. In addition, although the Electro Harmonix tubes are labeled "7868EH", the boxes usually only say "7868".

Supplier Electro Harmonix, however, advertises as follows:
The 7868EH vacuum tube is the first 7868 available in nearly 25 years. A faithful reproduction, this tube is guaranteed to get your Ampeg and Fisher amps working again. Country of Origin: RUSSIA
