Descripción

UHF air cooled transmitting triode, capable of operating as oscillator or amplifier. With forced-air cooling it can deliver 50W at 400MHz and operate up to 600MHz at reduced power. Four side pins, two for the grid and two more for the anode. Flying wires for center-tapped heater connections. The plate shows orange-red color, when tube is operated at full CCS ratings.

Used in T.39/APQ-9 radar jammer.

Made by GE, RCA and Slater.
Supersedes the 1628.

Variantes

Some RCA JAN 8012 / VT-228 have above the plate cylinder a square top baffle supported by a glass stem. The baffle prevents excessive escaping of metal particles and darkening of the glass.
