Sibley talks of this tube as 'three feet of copper pipe with a tube inside'. Thoriated tungsten filament, with flying leads from the base. Mu 45, 1.6MHz full ratings, 100KW anode dissipation with external water cooler.
Federal, GE, RCA and Westinghouse known sources.
This code was first assigned in July 1928. In 1941 GE claimed to have sold '60 million watts', or 600 tubes.
