Description |
Work started on development of this tube at the GE laboratories in the summer of 1931 and it was an Improved 869 version of the UV869. It was assigned the type number in December 1931and available to the public in the following year. Filament current reduced to 18A. Pin-and-blade jumbo base. 20KV PIV, 2.5A average over 30s time max; forced air cooling required.
