Description

External anode, water cooled triode for AM broadcast service. 100KW anode dissipation. 1.6MHz full ratings. Similar to 862 with six-phase pure tungsten filament, 16.5V, 70A per phase. Since 1936, 898 took the place of 862 in new transmitters. Due to different heater connections, the two tubes were not directly interchangeable; both were offered for 750 USD in 1945.
