Description |
This tube is based on the de Forest rectifier and has a Shaw base with the grid pin not connected. It was first Announced in the May 1921 issue of radio News as a New rectifier tube for experimental continuous wave work. With the aid of a small transformer, it could step up mains voltages to 350. 500 or 750 volts, thus making a high voltage generator no longer necessary.
