Description

Not to be confused with the common (Raytheon) tube 40 with a 5 volt heater. The Arcturus AC40 is one of the 7 first tubes developed by Arcturus for 15 volts series. The early production of the AC40 (and AC30) had a clear, tipped bulb, later productions had blue bulbs. The manufacturer chose 15 volts because of the availability of transformers operating at this voltage, for use in toy trains.
