Description |
Made for the British Army. This base used for this tube was the IS-2. This base was a molded ebonite "box" which had two square contacts on the bottom for the filament and a long side contact on each side for the anode and grid. The square studs measured 3.4mm x 4.7mm. The tube was also made with the IS-4 base (see photos). This was also an ebonite "box", somewhat bigger than the IS-2 base. It had four round stud pins, each 6mm x 7mm diameter. Two were on the bottom for the filament and one on each side for the anode and grid connections. Also made by Ediswan. The designer of these two bases is not known.
