Descripción This tube is the same Audion_06-triode, but without the top moulded cap. There is a long protrusion from the top of the bulb, where the plate and grid wires enter the bulb. this is one of the first double filament tubes made by H. W. McCandless for de Forest and the illustration on page 65 of Tyne's "Saga of the Vacuum Tube (fig.4-15) shows a stout rubber band around the top part of the base. this was available with the tubes and was used to hold the second filament lead-in wire in place, should it need to be used. Tyne states that this tube was owned at one time by J. A. Fleming, inventor of the two electrode tube in 1904.
