Description |
The X grade Audion is an extra sensitive tube made by McCandless for de Forest and came about as an anomaly at the factory. It could not actually be made in quantity but the difference in emission simply occurred in the testing process and was beyond McCandless's control. Fortunately the X grade tubes were very similar. They enjoyed good sales. They could not be seen as any different to the Audion_11-S-grade tube. Manufacture of both grades continued for a few years.
