Description |
Beam switching tube designed to operate as wide-band noise generator. The tube retains only two spade/target systems, other pairs being replaced by anode elements. Anode supply voltage is set for cut-off operation, while biasing of spades and targets is set to prevent stable states.
Target voltage 200V through 5K load resistor, target current 22 to 33mA; anode voltage 200V at 7mA, spade voltage -100V
Min 80mW noise output from 200 to 400MHz.
BD-401 were used in some lines of Hallicrafters AM/FM jammers, QRC/ALT-14,15,16.
