Description |
An unidentified advertisement, with the year 1925, offered the Peerless tubes under the name Peerless Radio Valve Corporation, with an address at 207 St James St Montreal, Canada. This tube was made by N V Philips in Holland about 1924-25, in an attempt to sell tubes in Canada and the US. GE/RCA filed four patent infringement suits against Philips. Both companies realised that years of litigation might follow and agreed to a compromise: GE/RCA and Philips would share patent rights and Philips would stay out of GE/RCA territory. Another tube recently located is the Colvan Products brand. The tube and box for these is identical in design and graphics to the Peerless box. No trace of Colvan Products has so far been found.
