| Description |
Pirani vacuum gauge. The Pirani gauge uses a temperature depending resistor mounted in the vacuum sensing chamber. It operates measuring the resistance and hence the temperature rise of the resitor when a current flows in it. The higher the resistance value, the lower is the conduction cooling by air particles and then the higher is the vacuum.
This kind of sensor is usually mounted in a bridge circuit, with a second sensor, vacuum sealed, used as reference.
