Description First Subminiature tube in USA.
Earing aid pentode, about March 1940. CK501, no suffix, was fitted with a 5 pin peanut base.
Other source: Developed in 1939 it was immediately used in numerous Hearing Aids. Ruggedized varieties came into use for proximity fuses (AAA). In 1945 subminiature tubes found application in the first vest pocket superhet Belmont Boulevard 5P113.

1939 entwickelt und zunächst in vielen Hörhilfen eingesetzt, wurde sie weiter entwickelt und ab Ende 1942 für Näherungszünder (Flak) eingesetzt.
1945 erstmals Verwendung von Subminiaturröhren für ein Westentaschenradio, Belmont Boulevard 5P113, ein Superhet.
