Description |
6 inches general purpose green Willemite phosphor CRT; electrostatic focus and deflection. Type approved VCR97, first used in 1940 in ASV Range Amplitude Display.
Neck diameter 62mm
Face diameter 155mm
Length without base 415mm (increase with base 5mm)
Maximum viewable picture with a 4:3 aspect ratio 120mm diagonal. Actually a 5 inch picture although if the picture size is increased so as to wrap around the curved front of the tube somewhat there is enough phosphor to display a picture of 6 inch diagonal as specified for the televisor.
Note that the aspect ratio was 5:4 in 1948 and was changed to 4:3 in 1950.
Note also that a mu-metal shield is required for this picture tube.
