Description

The first British 3-cm TR switch was devised by Skinner and Ward at TRE early in 1942. Production lots were run by GEC from December 1942. According to Callick, it was used in the early series of AI and H2S sets.

Its production was too complex and its effectiveness in protecting mixer diodes was too low. For this reason GEC started developing an improved design, the E1516, since May 1942
