Description

This is the standardized code for the early S-band magnetron NT98.

Superseded by CV1491 through CV1494 covering the four frequency variants, A to D. Actually the NT98 unstrapped series was already discontinued, just small quantities being produced for maintenance, when the CV register went in use.

Anyway the sample of NT98D in the photo, although corresponding for its frequency selection to CV1494, was packed as CV1255.

The development of the E1189 magnetron at GEC can be read at this link.
