Description |
Spark gap switch to be used as TR switch. Improved version of CV86, capable of 200 hours operation at 120KW. Electrodes were covered by ceramic sleeve and by glass bead all around the tungsten tip. A small amount of oxygen, 5%, in the filling atmosphere, reduced the recovery time to about 50 us. Used in CHL, GCI, in Naval Type 291 and in the transmitter of AMES 11 mobile ground radar. By May 1942 the production at MOV reached 1000 units per week.
