Description |
Derived from E1248 coaxial diode TR switch, it was filled with argon at 30mm Hg and a small quantity of water vapour. A water reservoir was attached to the additional heater connection. The tube granted several thousands hours of operation at 100KW, with few microseconds recovery time. Used from early 1942 in Type 286 small craft radar, 7KW peak, and from mid 1943 in Type 291, at 100KW peak.
