Description |
External copper anode triode, metal-glass style. Improved E960, using thoriated-tungsten filament. The new cathode operated at only two-fifths of the heating power required by the pure tungsten filament, giving twice the emission of the previous one.
This is the GEC experimental code, approved as VT98 / CV1098. Early samples were available for tests since September 1939.
